Jeju Island is big, thus it would be a better option to stay in both cities Seogwipo City & Jeju City for each place attractions. After checking out from our hotel in Seogwipo City, we took an airport limousine bus to our next hotel – 5* T.H.E Hotel & Vegas Casino.

T.H.E Hotel & Vegas Casino is located in mid-town, just five minutes away from Jeju International Airport, the hotel also offers convenient access to major attractions within 20-30 minutes. Continue Reading

Later today we will move from Seogwipo City to Jeju City. Before checking out, we will visit another 2 of Jeju Island’s famous waterfall – Cheonjiyeon Falls & Jeongbang Falls.

Cheonjiyeon Falls Entrance

We took a cab to Cheonjiyeon Falls. Entrance fees is KRW2,000 ( Approx RM5.50 / USD 1.80 ). “Cheonjiyeon” literally means air in the soil, it is one of the three most famous waterfalls on Jeju. Cheonjiyeon Waterfall is 22 meters high and 12 meters wide. Continue Reading

After Teddy Museum, we decided to walk to Jungmun Beach about 20 minutes walk ( advise to take taxi from Teddy Museum ).

Jungmun Beach (중문해수욕장) has a sandy shore so fine that it is called Jinmosal. The white sand beach is 560m long and the water has an average depth of 1.2m. Continue Reading

Before we arrive South Korea, many of our friends and family members told us “You cant self travel in South Korea cos you guys don’t speak Korean & 99% of Korean don’t speak English”.

Well that got us anxious at first, so let our Jeju-do journey begin. Our first destination – Yeomiji Botanical Garden at Jungmun Tourist Complex. It is the largest botanical garden in Asia, the magnificent glass Yeomiji Conservatory has collected and displayed 1,200 species of subtropical and tropical plants.

Yeomiji Botanical Garden

The weather was very windy. Got us shivering down out spine. We even have to stop at a convenience shop to get us a hot coffee while waiting for the wind to subside.

Only 4 hours of sleep, ( 3 hours for Cecilia, time spent on make up ), we were getting ready to depart for Jeju-do. We meet Grace & her family in the lobby and requested the receptionist to call us 2 cabs to Gimpo International Airport.

It took us 10 minutes to reach, before arrival, our taxi driver almost brought us to the wrong terminal, international departure instead of domestic departure terminal. We saw the a signboard for International Departure and quickly shouted to the taxi driver ” Jeju, jeju ” before he manage to turn the wrong way. Phew, we would miss our plane if werent for our luck.

We will be taking Eastarjet, one of South Korea’s low cost airline to Jeju Island. The fare from Seoul to Jeju cost us KRW47,500 which turns out to be around RM140/USD45. There is even cheaper price if you are flying to Jeju in the afternoon.

Checking In

Cost of taxi to the airport was KRW10,000 ( RM30/USD10 ), we managed to find Eastarjet check in counter without hassle. Eastarjet allows passengers to check in luggage up to 15kg for free. Continue Reading

Self check-in at the airport wasnt hard. All you need to do is just show your boarding pass at the Baggage Drop Counter. With self check in, is time to say goodbye to the long & frustrated queues.

Upon arrival in LCCT, one of our baggage was found to be damaged. Immediately, we took it to the baggage enquiry counter and Air Asia compensate a small amount of RM15 on the spot. Not quite enough to cover the damage though.

Our hand carry was found damaged

Before boarding, we stumbled upon Dato Tony Fernandes, the founder of Air Asia giving interview to newscasters. Today is the first official flight from KL to Seoul hence Dato Tony Fernandes and Air Asia X CEO Mr. Azran are on the same flight with us. What a lucky day !! Continue Reading
